Itinerary

30 JUN – Day 1 – Amsterdam to Heidelberg (Contiki Start)

Pick group up from the festival grounds in Biddinghuizen (Festigo to arrange permits). Say ‘Vaarwel!’ this morning as we’re setting off for your next country, Germany. Welcome to Heidelberg, a university town known for its castle and Gothic church. You’re free to explore however you like tonight but first, your Trip Manager will give you a brief orientation.

1 JUL – Day 2 – Heidelberg to Prague

Rise and shine, folks. You’re free to explore Frankfurt some more this morning. Journey to Prague, on arrival in the compact & lovable city of Prague, we’ll get out and go exploring, seeing castles and cathedrals and learning of Bohemian Kings and gothic history.

2 JUL – Day 3 – Prague

With a full day to loiter, expect an entire photo album of Gothic architecture, market antiques & you cheers-ing beer; not to mention life! Tonight, you could see yourself spending the evening indulging in traditional Czech cuisine while admiring the local folklore dancers as the sun goes down on the ‘City of a Thousand Spires.

3 JUL – Day 4 – Prague – Salzburg

Today we exchange the Czech Republic for Austria, waving goodbye to pretty Prague knowing that Salzburg is coming right up. Onwards – it’s time for the mountain ranges that made the Sound of Music famous. Also, home to Mozart, you can be pretty certain this place knows a beat. Today we’ll also see the largest preserved fortress in Central Europe – Hohensalzburg.

4 JUL – Day 5 – Salzburg Sightseeing or Electric Love Festival

5 JUL – Day 6 – Salzburg to Ljubljana

Morning Salzburg! Today we say goodbye to Austria and continue east in our discoveries, bound for Hungary. Although you might find nods to neighbouring countries, a distinct identity within Slovenian culture has evolved from the melody of influences surrounding it. After we’ve had a walking orientation to get acquainted with our new surroundings, you’ll have the chance to explore the bohemian art district of Metelkova Mesto or sit by one of Ljubljana’s atmospheric watercourses.

6 JUL – Day 7 – Ljubljana to Novalja (Contiki end)

Ever the advocates of a balanced holiday, today we’re trading in the obscure unknown for Dropzone. Drop in Novalja for Dropzone Festival. (CONTIKI ARRANGEMENTS END AT NOVALJA)
